Augustinian spirituality takes its root from Augustine of Hippo, an African-born fourth century monk and bishop whose life, teachings and writings have impacted the world in ways beyond measure. Throughout time, people have found in Augustine a spiritual home, a foundation through which one can journey toward God. That yearning for God is unending, and we hope you'll find this site a resource and jumping off point for your own spiritual journey.



Augustine thought of the time before Easter as symbolic of “this present life,” and the time after Easter as symbolic of eternal life to come – much the way the Bible often speaks to us symbolically of Babylon and Jerusalem. Continued....
